There are few people in the Czech Republic who can fluently speak Chinese,but thanks to China's rapid economic and social development,co-operation between Czech and Chinese is also growing and there is an increase in the number of people who want to study Chinese.Palacky University is the second oldest university in the Czech Republic and is also one of three state universities offering Chinese studies.Since the author is the graduate of this university and is very interested in the Chinese major,therefore decided to conduct research on the Chinese major of Palacky University.Research has two main parts:students motivation to study Chinese,and students satisfaction with Chinese philology at Palacky University.Through this survey,we can understand why students choose to study Chinese,how to motivate them to study Chinese,what problems exist in the school curriculum,and put forward appropriate suggestions for the corresponding problems.This thesis is divided into five parts:The first chapter introduces the research background,research purposes and methods.The second chapter mainly introduces the survey object,the survey method,the history and current situation of the development of the Chinese major in the Palacky University,The third chapter includes the analysis of the results of the investigation of students' motivation to study Chinese,the conclusion and suggestion of the investigation results;the fourth chapter includes the analysis of the results of the students' satisfaction survey of the Chinese major's curriculum,the conclusion of the investigation,the main advantages and disadvantages of the curriculum and the suggestions to improve those problems.The fifth chapter is the conclusion part.The results of the survey showed that most of the students chose to study Chinese for future work.According to the analysis of the survey results,the current curriculum of Chinese major at Palacky University is rich in different courses,courses are reasonably arranged and they are practicall and according with students' requirements.Although the overall development of Chinese major in Palacky University has been gratifying in recent years,there are still some shortages of curriculum.Therefore,the author put forward some pertinent suggestions according to the actual situation of the school.The author mainly hopes that this thesis can provide valuable suggestions for better teaching methods of Chinese major,also hope to promote the continuous development of Chinese teaching and Chinese international teaching in the University,and hope that the results of this research will be helpful to other researchers in this field,and hope it will be helpful to the teachers of Chinese language as well.
