Research On Song Dynasty Jin Dynasty Tombs Brick Carving In Henan Province

The tombs of wood imitation structure was originated from the five dynasties period and prevailed in Song dynasty and Jin dynasty.In the song dynasty,the people who built this kind of tomb were mainly the squire or businessmen who were rich.In the series of the tombs of wood imitation structure unearthed in the Henan area,many carved brick art with research value were discovered.This article is divided into four chapters to studies the brick carvings in the tomb which in Song Dynasty and Jin Dynasty,in Henan Province.The first chapter sorted out the number of unearthed in the tombs of wood imitation structure in Henan Province.Among them,17 were unearthed in the western part of Henan,11 were plotted in the central Henan,and 3 were unearthed in the northern part of Henan.The second chapter is a summary of the characteristics of the tombs brick carvings in the Henan region during the Song and Jin Dynasties.The brick carvings in the tomb unearthed of the Song Dynasty in Henan Province are mostly depicting secular life and household items.The brick carvings of tombs in the Henan area of the Jin Dynasty have increased the depiction of drama performance,filial piety stories and a lady opening the door are relatively rare.From the point of view of carving techniques,the Song Dynasty gold tombs unearthed in the Henan area were mostly embossed.After comparing with Shanxi and Hebei,it was found that the brick carvings in the tomb unearthed were more popular in the Song Dynasty and Jin Dynasty,such as the story of dutiful sons,live scenes,and dramas.The Song Dynasty tombs unearthed in the Hebei Province were the most homogenize in terms of carving bricks.brick carved mainly reflects in doors and windows,tables and chairs and other household items.The third chapter sorted out the main themes of tombs brick carvings in Song Dynasty and Jin Dynasty in Henan Province.The main theme of the Song Dynasty and Jin Dynasty brick carvings in the tombs unearthed in the Henan region were four categories,the story of dutiful sons,auspicious and spiriyual protection,household items,and worldly life.At that time,there were twenty four stories of filial piety story,bricking in the tombs,representative the grief of future generations whose children wished to help the tomb's master soul immortal.Auspicious and spiriyual protection,household items,and the burial bricks of secular life themes.It is decorated in tombs and reproduces the lives during the dead's lifetime.Both expressed the thoughts and devotions of future generations to their loved ones,and prayed for the family to be beautiful and prosperous.The last chapter of this article combines Hegel's theory of dividing the art style into three stages,For example,the brick tombs of the portrait of Fan Ji in Xinye County in Nanyang City,in Henan Province,after discuss the pattern art displayed on the brick carving,I believed that the artistic style of the Brick carving in Song dynasty and Jin dynasty in Henan Province should be classified as a transition from a severe style to an ideal style.
