With the rapid development of China's social economy,the demand for graphic design professionals is constantly updated,the form of design and related concepts are also changing,while the secondary vocational school's graphic design professional and market demand exists a certain degree of disconnection,so that professional teaching behind social practice.Based on the contradiction between the need for talents and vocational education under the economic development of China,this paper analyzes the application of “Compete to Learn” teaching mode for graphic design major of secondary vocational schools and explores applicable approach and setting of this mode.The study finds out that there exits some problems in the secondary vocational teaching: backward teaching mode,out-dated curriculum,insufficient qualified teachers,and so on.With the help of “Compete and Learn” teaching mode,this paper analyzes and discusses how to improve the teaching system of graphic design major through rearrangement of the teaching goals,reintegration of teaching materials and construction of “Bi-qualification” teacher ranks.Also,the author of the thesis hopes to explore a teaching mode which is more suitable for cultivating high-caliber graphic design talents needed for a society of fast development,and to develop a way of effective reformation for secondary vocational schools' graphic design major to cultivate talents.
