The Gameplay Of Wang Xiaobo's Novels

This article attempts to study Wang Xiaobo's novel creation with the game theory in western philosophy and postmodernist literary theory as the background,explore the expression of Gameplay in the novel text level,and further explore the spiritual appeal reflected by the gameplay trait.That is,using the pen of the game to surpass the heavy historical reality,deconstructing authority,resisting slavery,and pursuing freedom in joking words.The author combed the origins of the game theory and elaborated the main characteristics of postmodernism literature.The concept of gameplay is embedded in it.The gameplay proposed in this paper is based on the understanding of Western game theory,postmodernist literary theory,and Wang Xiaobo's novel text features.It's a kind of humorous and serious artistic aesthetics.That is,the creative subject breaks the inherent text paradigm and rules with flying artistic imagination,constructs the free and open text structure to the greatest degree,and achieves a narrative freedom and spiritual freedom in a light,interesting,and wise manner.Wang Xiaobo's bold and intellectual artistic imagination always ran through his literary creation.For example,the alienation and deformation of characters in the early works.In Wang Xiaobo's writing,people's alienation and transformation were caused by the oppression of the environment.This was also the resistance of people to the heavy and absurd reality.In order to escape boring life,the protagonists he wrote focused on invention and creation.The invented artifacts opened the door for them to escape the boring world,and thus they gained a broader living space.In addition,Wang Xiaobo was adept at using mathematical language and logical deductions that were full of intelligence and speculation to express rational resistance to absurd reality and persistent pursuit of wisdom and interest.Wang Xiaobo attached great importance to the novel's narrative structure.Most of his creations subvert the traditional linear narrative model.Instead,he used multiple spatial and temporal interlaced juxtapositions,looping narration games,and diversified narrative perspectives to construct texts.Wang Xiaobo made a profound exploration of the form of the novel,and his novels therefore had the characteristics of freedom and openness of the game,looking swaying and full of fun.On the one hand,it can make the readers enjoy the pleasant reading experience,on the other hand,the reader can follow the narrator's walk in the vast fictional world,and thus they can see the absurdity and comicality of history more comprehensively,objectively,and profoundly.In addition,Wang Xiaobo's novels broke through the existing grammar norms,dismantled and reorganized the languages in different time and space,such as the mixture of Chinese and English,the bonding of ancient and modern vocabulary,and the inclusion of classical Chinese and modern Chinese.Through language collage games,Wang Xiaobo was able to walk freely between reality and the imaginary world.At the same time,his fiction language broke the boundaries between elegance and customs,and aimed to resist mainstream,orthodox,authority and pursue the spirit of freedom and equality.Wang Xiaobo's novel could be said to be a revelry and game of language,which has a serious meaning.Wang Xiaobo's fictional language is humorous,but at the same time,he didn't lose his wisdom.He dispelled the heavy historical reality in his joking words.Wang Xiaobo's fictional text has the characterization of gameplay,but gameplay as a narrative strategy has its consciously spiritual orientation.Wang Xiaobo wanted to deconstruct loftiness,legitimacy,and authority through gameplay and achieved a spiritual freedom.
