An Guide Interpretation Report On Indian Exhibitors Of 28th Harbin Economic And Trade Fair

Nowadays,international tourist industry is developing prosperously under the closer global economic ties,and foreigners who come to China for tourism is increasing,as a result,English tour guide interpretation has been an important translation form.As an emissary of cross-culture communication,English tour guide is of vital importance.The twenty-eighth session of Harbin economic and Trade Fair was held in June 2017,the author undertook the guide interpreting task from Harbin Youth Travel Service to accompany Indian exhibitors to visit Harbin.The content of this task is accompanying five Indian exhibitors to visit famous scenic spots in Harbin,such as Central Street,Sophia Church,Sun Island park,etc.The author undertook Chinese-English tour guide interpretation in the whole practice.Due to the unique pronunciation of Indian English and the great cultural differences between China and India,the author focuses on pretranslation preparation and case analysis based on the characteristics of this task.It's hope to adopt effective translation strategies to overcome cultural barriers.In the stage of pre-translation preparation,the interpretation plan and glossary are drawn up,teleology is selected as the guiding theory of this task,and the parallel text analysis of Indian English pronunciation characteristics is made in detail.At the same time,emergency plans are developed for the problems that may be occurred in the task;In the interpretation process,combining with adequate pre-translation preparation,small difficulties which caused by language and cultural differences are solved and the expected results are reached;After practice,combined with specific cases,the interpreting strategies under the guidance of teleology are discussed,including paraphrase,amplification,omission and analogy.At last,analysis and summary of this practice are made to describe the professional qualities needed by interpreters and sum up the problems encountered in practice.With the rapid development of tourism industry,the field of international tour guide interpretation has a bright future.It's hoped that the interpretation practice report will provide constructive advice on Indian English listening skills and guide interpretation strategies to interpreters in related fields,moreover,it's hope to provide relevant materials for interpretation education.
