As the cornerstone of English,vocabulary is an essential part of the whole English teaching.Especially for pupils at a young age,how to quickly grasp the basic vocabulary and not to divest their valuable learning interest is an obstacle that needs to be overcome in primary school English teaching.The survey shows that at present,English Teaching in primary schools is still using the traditional teaching mode of the last century.The blackboard based language teaching method is obviously not in accordance with the learning characteristics of pupils.The continuous popularization of multimedia technology in the classroom has brought new opportunities for the innovation of language teaching model.In recent years,researches on multimedia language teaching are common.But for the primary school students,multimedia teaching in English is scarce,and empirical research is particularly lacking.Under such situation,on the basis of Meyer's Theory of Multimedia Learning and Second Language Acquisition theory,this paper introduces the multimedia technology into the teaching practice of English vocabulary in primary school,from the angle of the word phonetic presentation,the word meaning presentation and the design of the lexical shape,and integrates the game elements,the interactive elements in the design of the teaching link,The task element and the situational element,explores the multimedia vocabulary teaching pattern which accords with the elementary school student learning characteristic.In order to verify the validity of the model in vocabulary teaching,the experiment was carried out in two classes in the third grade of a primary school in northeast China by means of quasi research experiment.The experimental process includes the pre test,the technical support word to the media teaching,the explanation + training traditional word teaching,the post test as well as the questionnaire survey.Through mathematical analysis I finally draw the conclusion: primary school English word teaching model can effectively promote the students ' generative cognitive processing,in the maintenance test scores are higher than the traditional mode of learning students supported by multimedia technology,according to the SPSS19 software data show that there are significant differences between the two.It can be said that in a variety of technical support of the transformation of the word presentation,combined with the rich and colorful information input activities to strengthen the pupils to learn the vocabulary of the depth of memory,and the practical environment of the pragmatic atmosphere can also train pupils to apply the word output ability And most of the primary school students also support the teaching mode of English words supported by multimedia technology.
