A Report On Translation Of Legal Literacy

This report is on the translation practice of Legal Literacy.The source text Legal Literacy is a book of introduction to law which is intended to strengthen people's legal consciousness.Its language structure is rigorous and the source text contains lots of specialized terms and complex sentences.The first two parts of it are chosen as the translated materials.Legal Literacy translation practice report describes the contents,structure,style and language features of the source text first.And based on the style and language features of the book,Skopos Theory is chosen to guide the whole translation practice process and some explorations of it have been made.Most important of all,under the guidance of the “three principles” of Skopos Theory: Skopos rule,coherence rule,and fidelity rule,some translation methods and techniques have been adopted during the whole translation process and more examples are chosen as the illustration in the translation report.In view of combining theory with practice,the translation report is hoped to provide guidance for the translation of legal texts and make an attempt to enhance the quality of its translation.It would be no doubt that the translator gained a lot from the whole translation process.
