A Report On The English-Chinese Consecutive Interpretation Of "2017 Training Program For The Coaches Of Western Part Of China Supported By Chinese Football Association"

This is a practice report on football-related English-Chinese serial program interpretation,which records and analyzes the experience of the author participating in the "2017 Training Program for the Coaches of Western Part of China Supported by Chinese Football Association".The interpreting practice includes the consecutive interpreting of theoretical lectures,practice on the field and interaction between the lecture giver Branko Bujisic and the lecture audiences and coaches from Yunnan province.The training program is supported by Chinese Football Association,sponsored by Yunnan Football Association and undertaken by different prefectures,cities and counties throughout Yunnan province.Duration of the program is two years in total,with a total number of 24 training projects.Some prefectures,counties,and municipal youth training centers also spontaneously submit their requests for training.From the beginning of September 2017 till the end of December 2017,it has been successively held in five places in Yunnan province,that is,Mile,Lijiang,Yulong County(Lijiang City),Xishan District(Kunming),Longchuan County(Dehong Prefecture)and Yuxi City.The trainer,Mr.Branko Bujisic,is a former professional football player from Serbia and now he is a professional coach,trainer and lecture giver.The audiences are mainly the coaches and representatives of sports administrations,cultural and education departments,P.E.teachers and principals of the primary schools of all the counties,prefectures,and cites throughout the province.Since the program includes a series of training throughout Yunnan province,the author selected the first phase of training in Mile city as a concrete case for analyzing.With retrospect,reflection,analysis and feedback of the interpretation process,the report focuses on the interpreter's preparation for interpreting tasks in this program,the difficulties and problems encountered in the interpreting process,the mistakes made,post-translation analysis and feedback.And this report also includes case studies and the application of translation strategies and theories.Through the analysis of the interpretation task itself,this paper draws a conclusion that daily and heavy-loaded practice is a solid foundation for practical interpretation tasks of the interpreter.Meanwhile,comprehensive preparation,flexibility in the application of interpretation strategies and theories,such as Interpretive Theory of Translation(ITT),are also the preconditions and key points of accomplishing the task perfectly.
