A Study Of Chinese-English Consecutive Interpretation From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

The Interpretive Theory is one of the most important theories in interpretation study, and it has already become a guidance on interpreting teaching and training. The Interpretive Theory introduces the Triangular Model and redefines the procedure of interpretation by adding the process of "deverbalization". It is the distinctive feature of the Interpretive Theory.With the analysis of the transcriptions of Prime Minister and Foreign Minister’s press conferences during, the NPC and CPPCC sessions from2006to2011, the author introduces some coping strategies adopted in the consecutive interpretation with the approach of Interpretive Theory. The author also puts forward three interpreting trainings according to the procedure of the Interpretive Theory. The trainees can employ some strategies and training methods according to this thesis in interpreting activities.
