As an extension and supplement of class,homework is of great significance to both teachers and students.For students,through homework,you can promptly consolidate the knowledge,testing their knowledge of the situation.Homework is an important means of teaching feedback for teachers.Through the completion of students' homework,they can find problems and solve problems in time,so as to serve the teaching better.However,according to the current completion of the junior students' homework,there are still many difficulties.Whether teachers' homework assigning or students' homework completion,there are still many problems.The thesis mainly adopts the theoretical study method,the questionnaire investigation method,interviewing method,experimental method and case analysis.The study intends to answer the following three questions: What are the disadvantages of the current Junior English Homework? How can we design the Junior English Homework with reliability and validity scientifically? Whether the English homework designed by the "Scaffolding Instruction" strategy can improve students' listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities,as well as learning grades or not? At the same time,the writer analyzed the problems in the Junior English Homework based on the questionnaire and interview results,then proposed the idea of designing English homework according to the "Scaffolding Teaching" strategy.In order to solve the problems,the study conducted a teaching experiment for two months among 120 Grade 7 students by many ways.Based on the theories of Constructivism and “Zone of Proximal Development”,the writer designed the English homework by using the “Scaffolding Instruction” strategy in the study.The study found that the homework designing can improve students listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities and learning grades obviously.The result showed that the strategy played an active role in improving teaching.The study intends to give some suggestions to the current Junior English Homework.However,because the theoretical basic,teaching practice and the ability of designing homework are limited,there are some shortcomings in the study,such as the limitation of the experiment sample and the status.In the future,there will be wide and continuous study of the thesis to make it complete.
