Research On The Development And Compilation Of Chinese Idiom Dictionaries

The Chinese idiom is the crystallization of the accumulation and precipitation of Chinese civilization,which is an important part of Chinese vocabulary.Concise language expresses profound connotation,it is the essence of language,greatly enriched the language of Han nationality.With the development of time and society and expansion of people's needs,the circulation of the dictionary becomes more than before,the form and content are also varied.There are many studies on idioms at present,these studies are based on ontology or application of idioms.This thesis mainly study from the perspective of lexicology.On the basis of predecessors' research on idiom definition,we get some specific studies on the beginning,development and compilation practice of Chinese idiom dictionaries.This paper is divided into three parts,including six chapters.The first part is the introduction.This part introduces the research status and background of the article,and defines the definition and scope of Chinese idioms on the basis of previous researches,and then explains the purpose and significance of the article.The second part is the main body part of the thesis,which is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,we clear up the compilation information of idiom dictionaries from 1742 to 2017 and show it by establishing a table.According to the arrangement and display of the research materials,we divides the development of Chinese idiom dictionaries into four stages according to the change of time.Then we analyses the reason and the trend of the Chinese idiom dictionaries' development.The second chapter,we classified Chinese idiom dictionaries we collected according to three different angles:the quantity of vocabulary,readers of dictionaries and its function.This is based on the representative classification theories ofdictionaries at home and abroad.This also provides a basis for later studies.The third and fourth chapters are the most important parts of the text,mainly discussing the specific compilation of the dictionaries.The third chapter mainly discusses the dictionaries from the content and ways of phonetic notation,entris,paraphrase,examples of the vocabulary and some other aspects.At the same time,it gives some examples of specific representative dictionaries to make the study more evidential.In the fourth chapter,it puts forward some suggestions on the compilation and development of Chinese idiom dictionaries from macro and micro directions.It will be helpful to the following studies.The third part is the conclusion part,which makes a comprehensive review and summary of the whole article.This paper sorts out the Chinese idiom dictionaries published from 1742 to 2017 and gives their compilation informations,which is convenient for researchers to consult.At the end,we also points out the shortcomings of my research: the dictionaries published in Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and foreign countries are not involved.And the suggestion needs to be strengthened,then we prospects some possible future research.
