This report is based on the translation of the preface and several stories I picked out from Stories of Fang Guozi,a children's book by the Chinese children's book writer Mr.Zhou Rui(??).I made an introduction, study and conclusion on the process and the output of the translation. The report falls into four parts, including the description of the task, the process of translation, case study and the summary. The description of the task consists of the background of the task, the text, the author, the style and the significance. As for the translation process,it contains the preparation before translation,while-translation and the quality control.Amid the four parts, the case study is the vital part of the report.Basing on English translation of several stories from Stories of Fang Guozi, such as The Fly Guy,Speculating the Longevity,Archaeological Stories in the Future,Three Months after My Death Penalty,Rooster-feathered Duck and Duck-feathered Rooster, and Stories of Fang Guozi, the relevant stylistic features were analyzed. And according to the functional equivalence theory and the stylistics, the strategies and techniques of translating children's book were further studied.Besides, translating children's book was quite different from those for adults.Given the children's receptivity, unique language features and psychology, the case study analyzed the problems in translating this children's book.Last but not least,I made a summary including my learning from this practice and the unsolved problems.I hope that I could understand the functional equivalence theory and the stylistics better, improve the ability of translating children's book and master the language features of children's literature through this practice.
