On The Evolution Of The Theme Of Zhou Sicong's Figure Painting In Different Periods

The theme of Chinese figure painting has been constantly changing with different time.The theme or subject matter plays an important role in the painting and creation.The paper expounds on the influence of political background of different historical periods on the artistic creation based on the creation of figure paintings of Zhou Sicong in different periods.By analyzing Zhou Sicong's choice of theme in figure painting on the eve of the Cultural Revolution,during the Cultural Revolution,in the 1980s and1990s respectively,the paper briefly explains the impact of social background of different periods on subject choice of painting creation and its development and evolution.Accordingly,some questions are posed to analyze what kind of enlightenment it has provided us,together with the experience summary.Based on the research of the subject creation of Zhou Sicong's figure painting in different periods,it can be found that on the eve of the Cultural Revolution and during the Cultural Revolution,the choice of them tended to be simplified due to the ideological imprisonment,showing a tendency of following the popular trend,and the subject matters are more of the performance of idealism and heroism.After the Reform and Opening Up,the selection range of choice of theme expanded after the liberation of thoughts of painters,leading to the transition from hero theme to life theme,and even the liberalized performance tendency.With the development of economy and the advancement of globalization,the attention began to be paid on the inner world of individual to the previous focusing on life.As can be observed from the late works of Zhou Sicong,namely the Yi ethnicity women,all these works are more of the manifestation of the inner sentiment of Zhou Sicong.From the creations of Zhou Sicongmes in different themes,it can be seen that the political and social background plays a crucial role in choosing the theme of painting.Zhou Sicong's paintings imposed a significant influence on me.I have been learning her creation experience and her sense of responsibility for the society.We cannot experience her life process,but we will have been learning from her.In the contemporary era,how should we create our creative works with our resources.We should absorb the creative experience of our seniors,experience life,understand life and show the respect for life to express the social value of our existence.In the age of information development in the 21 st century,people's thought have been liberated unprecedentedly,accompanied by the material surplus.The influx of western ideas has enriched the aesthetic taste of art of people.In such times,the painting subject has a broader space of development.As an independent thinker,it is critical for each painter to create works of art which are different from the ancient predecessors and the peers nowadays.More importantly,we should also focus on the social reality and grasp the veins of the era,so that the art cannot be divorced from reality.We should always undertake the responsibility of social progress and sense of mission,and make arts serve the people and serve for the socialism.
