As the trend of globalization continues to surge ahead, communication and exchanges among countries and regions are becoming increasingly frequent.Especially in recent years, with the implementation of China's “Belt and Road” Initiative,China's international communication has gone into a new phase featuring higher openness and wider range, which brings more demand for interpreters. Therefore, interpreting has been playing a critical role in the communication and exchanges. As a postgraduate majoring in interpreting, for the past three years of graduate study, the author, instructed by his supervisor and professional translation and interpreting teachers, has mastered interpreting skills and acquired a great deal of linguistic and extra-linguistic knowledge. In addition, the author,in accordance with the requirement of MTI(Master of Translation and Interpreting)practice guidance, has taken part in the practice in CRRC ZELC for nearly half year.In the process of the practice, the author has received instruction from the sophisticated interpreters and translators, and gained much experience in translation and interpreting. This report introduces the background and basic situation of the “Pakistan Orange Line Metro Train Project”.The author makes relatively adequate preparation for the glossary of metro trains and dish names and analyzes characteristics of Indian English. In the interpreting practice, comprehension is of most significance.Paying less attention to it will cause comprehension barriers for interpreters and hence influence the quality and the performance of interpreting.Taking these into account, the report attempts to analyze the interpreting of “Pakistan Orange Line Metro Train Project” based on Gile's Interpretation Comprehension Equation and give strategies for the improvement of interpreting. In addition, the author makes the introspection on this project and points out the deficiency in this report. All cases in this report are from the author's practice. The author hopes this report can provide useful advice and practical experience for those who wish to engage in interpreting.
