Science and technology translation is the necessity of historical development. With the acceleration of globalization, the exchanges between countries on economy, trade, science and technology as well as culture are getting deeper and more frequent. In today's world, the competition among countries is focused on science and technology, and people pay more and more attention to science and technology. This situation has greatly enhanced the importance of science and technology translation, but also the emergence of various levels of science and technology translation needs. In the field of science and technology, artificial intelligence robots become a research highlight in recent years.A large number of jobs require the participation of intelligent robots, and the research on intelligent robots is also an important subject. The report selects three academic papers on artificial intelligence robots as translation texts, all from the Elsevier website. The three papers are Robots for Education(Edutainment),Human-like Artificial Intelligent Wheelchair Robot Navigated by Multi-Sensor Models in Indoor Environments and Error Analysis and Autonomous control and implementation of coconut tree climbing and harvesting robot.Although it is a study of three different types of robots,it can give readers a more comprehensive understanding of intelligence field. The report uses the functionalist skopos theory proposed by German functionalist school to guide and analyze translation behavior of the original text.Compared with the traditional concept of equivalence, skopos theory pays much more attention to expected function and translation purpose rather than the perfect equivalence between the original text and the translated text. The functional skopos theory is composed of three major rules: the skopos rule, the fidelity rule and the coherence rule. The skopos rule holds that the process of translation is determined by the purpose. The fidelity rule emphasizes intertextual coherence and faithfulness to the original text. The coherence rule focuses on intratextual coherence and the acceptability of translation. The report is composed of five chapters. It elaborates the background and significance of the task firstly.Next,it gives a general introduction to the scientific and technological texts as well as a rough understanding of the three selected academic papers. In order to ensure the accuracy of the translation, the translator has formulated pre-translation preparation, translation plan and post-translation proofreading. In this report, the skopos rule, the fidelity rule and the coherence rule are used to guide the translation task, the corresponding lexical and syntactic translation strategies such as word meaning determination, domestication and functional conversion are analyzed and discussed in the meantime. The purpose of this study is to gain valuable experience and provide guidance for future translation.Meanwhile, the report summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of the translation, which can be discussed and referenced by the other translators.
