With the implementation of new curriculum standards,the classroom teaching patterns of primary and middle schools,the teaching concepts of teachers and the learning initiative of students have all changed greatly in many urban areas.Zheng'an No.6 Middle School,a typical rural junior high school,has applied guided-learning plan teaching model to its classroom teaching and learning.However,it is at an exploratory stage and there exist some problems.As a front-line teacher of No.6 Middle School of Zheng'an,the researcher tries to make a summary and give a true reflection on the process of practicing the guided-leaning plan to answer the following three questions:1.What problems does Zheng'an No.6 Middle School meet during the process of implementing guided-learning plan teaching model?2.How can the guided-learning plan improve the students' learning autonomy in English learning?3.How can the guided-learning plan improve the students' English performance?Questionnaires,class observation and tests are used in this study.And two classes in Grade Eight of Zheng'an No.6 Middle School are the research subjects.Class two is the experimental class where the guided-learning plan teaching model is applied,while Class Three is the control class where the traditional teaching model is used.The students in the two classes are taught by the researcher with the same textbook in English.After a semester of teaching,the author compares and analyzes the questionnaires and academic performances of the two classes.And the author put forward the “seven steps” of guided-learning plan which is beneficial to improve students' English performance and learning autonomy. |
