For a long time,the traditional teacher-centered teaching method has been dominant in Chinese education.Most of the junior high schools give priority to traditional teaching and rarely let students master the classroom.In the long run,students gradually lose their consciousness and ability of autonomous learning.Strong dependence feeling on teachers is not conducive to students' independent autonomous learning.Under the guidance of the new curriculum reform,the traditional “cramming” teaching method needs to be changed in the English classroom.The new curriculum standard reform is devoted to the reform of English teaching,advocating the “student-oriented” teaching method.Compared with the traditional English classroom teaching,Guided-Learning Plan(GLP)teaching mode pays more attention to students' autonomous learning ability.The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the practicability and effect of the implementing GLP in English classroom of junior high school.The research questions are as follows:Question 1: What's the practicability of guided-learning plan teaching mode in English classroom of junior high school?Question 2: What effect does guided-learning plan teaching mode have on students' autonomous learning ability?The research participants were from the second grade of a middle school in Shenyang,including 300 students and 6 English teachers.This paper investigates the practicability of GLP by means of the questionnaires and interviews.The survey lasted for two months,as the survey participants in the second grade.This paper draws the following conclusions:GLP teaching mode is widely applied in junior high school.Teachers and students generally believe that GLP can improve teachers' teaching efficiency and students learning efficiency.The teaching burden of teachers and the learning burden of students can be lightened through using GLP.GLP has a positive effect on the students' autonomous learning.Through GLP learning,the students' awareness of autonomous learning can be aroused.Students' learning ability can be improved.The above findings are expected to provide a basis for the further wide use of guided learning programs.
