An increasing of transnational specialized lectures emerged with the development of Sino-foreign cooperation in education which stimulated the requirements of interpreting. The author was invited by the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts to be the English to Chinese interpreter of sound editing lecture from December 17-18 in 2016.In this practical report, the high-frequency errors are collected from the transcript, afterward they are classified into three categories based on Gile's Effort Model, including listening and analysis, memory and production, finally, the coping tactics towards each category are proposed. The identified problems include the insufficiency in listening and analysis which is caused by miscomprehension and misinterpreting in lexical level, the overload in memory which is associated with individual's working memory limitation and environmental interferences, and the inappropriate production which is ascribed to incomplete, redundant and non-fluent sentences. The corresponded coping tactics, including appropriate inquiry, lexical rank shift and ad hoc knowledge supplement, could be adopted to solve the insufficiency in listening and analysis;the information sources need to be ranked according to the credibility to save more processing capacity for memory effort;self-control awareness and artistic presentation skills need to be highlighted to improve the performance of production.Since the studies on art-related software-based interpretingare quite limited, the practical report could be perceived as a supplemented empirical study served as a reference to the other interpreters.
