This interpreting practice report is based on the author’s two lecture interpreting practices,which were named The 70-year’ s Taxation System Reform of China-the Important Process and Development Direction and Artificial Intelligence Reshapes Li-brary Reading Service.The author reviewed and summarized the processes of inter-preting practice,which was divided into three parts:pre-task preparation,task imple-mentation and post-task summary,with pre-task preparation emphasized.Under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model,the author uses the method of discourse analysis to analyze the transcribed simultaneous interpreting version of record and the revised ver-sion from four aspects of listening and analysis,short-term memory,speech production and coordination,to analyze problems occurred in the process of interpreting practice and explore the causes and effects of the imbalance of effort distribution in the inter-preting practice,and to put forward solutions.Based on the analysis of interpreting practice,the author concludes that there are three main reasons for the imbalance of effort distribution:insufficient language skills of interpreters,insufficient knowledge reserve of interpreters,and psychological state of interpreters.In view of these reasons,the author proposes some strategies such as accumulation of background knowledge,reasonable waiting,reasonable prediction,us-ing of PPT and notes to assist memory,syntactic linearity,omission and simplification to improve the efficiency of effort distribution of interpreter and promote the quality of interpreting.This interpreting practice report hopes to provide reference to the author and other interpreters in their future interpreting practice. |
