There is no doubt that economy development highly depends on communication,translation as media of communication draws attention of linguists from all the world.English translation of literature is a vital part of literature research and translation.However,it can be seen that there are few books about English translation of literature,which suggests the immaturity of research of English translation of literature.With the development of research in western literature history in China,it needs efficient materials for reference.The Oxford History of Literary Translation in English is a rare and valuable book which can support the related research.This report mainly illustrates the translation and analysis of the project.In the first chapter,it is introduction,which includes the background,significance and the structure of project.In this chapter,author detailed the reason why she do this project and its importance for research of English translation of literature.The second Chapter introduces the translation process,which details the pre-translation preparation and the collaboration between translators.This project aims at translating The Oxford History of Literary Translation in English ?,which is translated by me and other translators.Author is responsible for the 6.6-7.1,this part details the history and development of English translation literature of Scandinavia,Celtic,the Middle Europe and the East Europe.Many writers and books also appears in other chapters which is been translated by my teammates.This chapter introduces the details of teamwork and the way of solving problem.The third chapter details the Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory,which includes three parts,Equivalence in communication,Equivalence in view of Social Semiotics and evaluation of Functional Equivalence Theory.This chapter is the guidance of the next chapter,the case analysis.The fourth chapter shows the analysis of translation according to Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory and translation skills.The last chapter is summary.
