Master of Translation and Interpreting(MTI)has been established for a decade.Since 2007,colleges and universities with MTI programs have also grown from 15 in 2007 to 215 today. In spite of the achievement,it should be realized that MTI programs are still at an exploratory stage and have a long way to go.The curriculum design is the most important part of MTI programs, which has a great impact on MTI programs. The questionnaire design is based on the student-centered curriculum design and knowledge structure for interpreters to figure out students' satisfaction with its curriculum design. The author chose forty-seven students of 2016 MTI interpreting program at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies(GDUFS)as surveyed subjects and conducted a questionnaire survey, with further in-depth interviews with six students as a supplement. The author was intended to figure out the status quo of the MTI interpreting program at GDUFS,focusing on whether the curriculum design of MTI interpreting program can meet the needs of students to improve their interpreting abilities. At present,GDUFD has already formed its own interpretation teaching system, that is,the GDUFS mode of interpretation teaching.According to data collected from questionnaires,twenty-five(accounting for 53.19%)students thought the actual results achieved by courses offered by MTI interpreting program at GDUFS were consistent with its training objectives, the left twenty-two students(accounting for 46.81%)had opposite opinions.Thirty-six students(accounting for 76.6%)thought their interpreting abilities had improved after one and a half years of study, while eleven students(accounting for 23.4%)thought their interpreting abilities had not improved at all.The above-listed data reflect that the curriculum of MTI interpreting program at GDUFS is reasonable and students are also satisfied with the curriculum, but there are still many problems that need to be improved.Afterwards, the research report carried out data analysis and analyzed causes of problems one by one from four aspects, including language and extra-language courses, theoretical courses, translation courses and interpreting courses. In combination with students' opinions reflected from questionnaires and interviews, the author put forward corresponding suggestions for its further improvement and development. This report has a good practical significance and can reveal real problems in MTI interpreting program. At the same time, according to problems reflected in survey results, suggestions are put forward for curriculum design of MTI interpreting program at GDUFS,which aim at promoting its curriculum design and providing references for students in the interpreting program. In addition, research results can provide a certain reference and have an enlightening significance for domestic colleges and universities with MTI interpreting program.
