Report On The Interpreting Project Of Real World Design Challenge Beijing Program

This thesis is a report on the interpreting project of the workshop of Real World Design Challenge(RWDC)in Beijing.It tells the details of the interpreting project including preparation,implementation and evaluation of the project.With the Comprehension Equation of Daniel Gile as the theoretical basis,the report analyses the author's interpreting performance based on cases selected from the project.It analyzes the author's performance in knowledge of the language from vocabulary,sentence and long paragraph,concludes problems in handling semantic change,translation between typical Chinese and English sentences and the interpreting of complex paragraphs and suggests solutions such as improving coordination ability of listening and analyzing and adaptation ability in producing texts in Chinese.The report also analyzes the author's interpreting based on extra-linguistic knowledge from professional knowledge and intercultural communication,pointing out the author's weakness in interpreting professional knowledge and emphasizing the importance of understanding cultural differences.It advises the author to learn multidisciplinary knowledge and highlights the necessity of having intercultural awareness.The report aims at showing interpreting practice in international educational programs to interpreting learners by introducing the author's own practice and playing as references for interpreting researches in the field.
