A Report On E-C Translation Of Entrepreneurship As Experimentation

William R.Kerr,Ramana Nanda,and Matthew Rliodes-Kropf,the professors of Business Administration of Harvard Business School,published a paper named Entrepreneurship as Experimentation in the Journal of Economic Perspectives(JEP).Facing the flourishing startups in the global market,the authors put forward the idea that entrepreneurship is experimentation in this paper,which is helpful for the selfpositioning and decision optimization of entrepreneurs and investors.In this translation practice,the translator chose the financial paper called Entrepreneurship as Experimentation as the source text,and the target readers are Chinese readers who study or love financial investment.The main difficulties in the translation are as follows: financial terms with high requirement,deficient professional knowledge and the complex logical relationship in the long sentences.Guided by the text typology proposed by Katharina Reiss,the translator find that the text type of the source text is informative text.The translation strategy adopted by the translator is domestication.Besides,on the basis of the dominant norms in the target language culture,the author adopted some translation techniques and methods such as addition,division and shift to deal with difficulties and enhance the readability of the translation so that Chinese readers can deeply understand the perspectives mentioned in the source text.This translation practice is conducive to the exchange and cooperation in financial investment at home and abroad,the confidence of entrepreneurs and the reasonable decisions made by the investors.According to this financial paper,the entrepreneurs can also explore market opportunities and hedge entrepreneurial risks.
