A Practice Report On The Simulated C-E Simultaneous Interpreting Of “Emerging Trends In Foreign Language Teaching Against The Background Of Rising China”

With the implementation of China's reform and opening-up policy,conference interpreting has been the bridges and bonds of our county's international communication and contacts.The author notices the significance of conference interpreting,and meanwhile it has made a higher request to the conference interpreter.As the editor of China Daily,Mr.Zhou Shuchun's speech style is solemn and humorous,much elegant and close to the real situation.It is extremely crucial that a large number of subordinate information and terms are encountered in the interpreting practice.For speakers,using native expressions is conductive to transmit the rich semantic information as well as improving the efficiency of communicating with the audience,but for interpreters,it boosts the pressure on information transformation.Owing to the language difference between English and Chinese,it is difficult for interpreters to interpret the source language with its syntactic order simultaneously.In addition,there are so many complex compound clauses in this speech,so it is a challenge for interpreters to deal with its complicated information in a short time.Through the practice,the difficulties in the interpreting practice are summarized: first,the syntactic structure of Chinese differs from the English one which brings out the difficulty in converting the word order;second,the content of the compound clauses is large,increasing the interpreters' pressure on conveying information completely.This interpretation report discusses on these two issues and concentrates on how to solve the difficulties in the interpretation practice.According to the simultaneous interpretation principles,the interpreter proposes explaining,de-verbalization,prediction and omission methods to settle the above difficulties.These methods can effectively solve the difficulties in the practice of interpreting and fulfill the author's practical task.This report analyzes the simulated simultaneous interpretation of Chinese to English in the speech of "Emerging Trends in Foreign Language Teaching against the Background of Rising China" and has a positive practical effect on enhancing the interpreter's level of interpretation.At the same time,the author sincerely hopes to provide the relative reference for the other interpreters.
