Information Analysis In English-Chinese Consecutive Interpretation And Its Difficulties And Coping Strategies

Based on an interview of Peter Thiel in the Economic Club of New York,this paper is a case study concerning information analysis of English to Chinese consecutive interpreting.In this paper,information analysis refers to process in which interpreter analyze and comprehend speaker's intention and logic after hearing the speech.By comparing and analyzing the original and interpreting texts,this paper is aimed to find out the difficulties that interpreter has encountered in information analysis and to figure out better solution and training methods to these problems.Out of the author's own experience,it also gives some suggestions on how to enhance bilingual knowledge,distinguish between primary and secondary information,make preparation before interpretation and improve the skills of logic analysis.
