When learning a foreign language,the learner must have the desire to learn.Only when the learner has the motivation can he make the whole process more effective.Therefore,motivation is very important in learning.There are many researches on the factors for influencing the motivation,but recently,how teachers' feedback influence students' motivation attracts people's attention.This paper aims to find out the feature of teachers' feedback of primary English classes and to sort out the types of teachers' feedback in primary English classes,then analyze the effect on students' motivation,that is to say to find out the effect of teachers' feedback on students' interest,self-worth and goal-orientation.The study has been done mainly by questionnaire,assisted by classroom observation.Ten English classes are chosen as the transcriber material and 272 students,4 teachers as the subject of this study.The result shows: teachers' feedback of primary English classes has some specific characteristics: the simplification of teachers' feedback's target,that is to say,teachers always give feedback on the students who answer questions rather than on the groups of which students complete the task together;teachers choose to create a relaxed atmosphere by using teachers' feedback;prompt feedback is frequently used in primary English classes.It also shows that from the perspective of sub-types,it has its own characteristics.For example,reward feedback is the main feedback sub-type in primary English classes.At last,teachers should choose different types of feedback according to different learning style of students.
