In the present English teaching in junior high school,reading is one of the most important components and also one of the indexes that reflect English teaching achievement.Therefore,reading teaching has always been the focus and difficulty to the majority teachers of junior high schools in English teaching.In recent years,with the advancement of English educational reform,the focus of English reading teaching has gradually shifted from mechanical reading to cultivating students' English reading ability and skills to stimulate students' interest in reading.Under this background,the learning plan-guided teaching pattern was widely applied in the teaching of English reading.The learning plan-guided teaching pattern refers to a kind of teaching mode which takes the guided learning plan as the carrier,the teacher's guidance as the leading factor,the students' autonomous learning as the main body,the guided learning as the method,students complete their tasks under the teacher's guidance.The teaching achievement has also been recognized by many scholars and teachers.However,the application of learning plan-guided teaching pattern in the teaching of English reading at rural junior high school is not very common.At the same time,this problem has not been given due attention and fully elaborated in previous studies.Therefore,this thesis starts with the Application of Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern in the Teaching of English Reading at Rural Junior High Schools,trying to answer the following two questions:1.How is the Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern applied to the teaching of English reading in rural junior high schools?2.Can the Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern improve the students' English reading ability in rural junior high schools?This thesis discusses the application of Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern in rural junior high school.Based on the principles of Constructivism Theory and Autonomous Learning theory,questionnaires,tests and experiments are taken as research tools to explore the above research questions.The subjects of the thesis are students of class 1 and class 2 of grade eight in Tianshui Yangzhuang Junior high School,and class 2 is the experimental class,class 1 is the control class.Before the research is conducted,the pre-questionnaires are used to know about the current situation of all the students in grade eight about English reading,and the following problems are detected: the students have poor learning habits,their English foundation is weak,and few effective reading strategies are used to obtain information.Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern is used for the teaching of English reading in the experimental class,and the traditional teaching model is used in the control class.After 15 weeks' experiment,questionnaires and exam tests are conducted to see if there is a sharp difference with the use of two different teaching modes.From the test results and questionnaire data,it clearly shows that the Learning Plan-guided Teaching Pattern receives a higher evaluation from teachers and students.The results of the test show that the post-test score of the experimental class is higher than the post-test score of the control class.This thesis finds that the learning plan-guided teaching pattern is helpful in improving the English reading ability of middle-level students whose scores are more than 70,they can use various reading strategies skillfully after applying this teaching pattern in English reading class.Furthermore,this teaching pattern helps improve students' interest in English reading,enable them to have a positive attitude towards English learning.At the same time,the learning plan-guided teaching pattern has been generally adopted by both teachers and students,and they all hold a positive attitude towards this mode.However,the results show that this teaching mode has little effect on students whose scores are less than 70.
