Logic Confusion In Consecutive Interpretation From French To Chinese

Logic is the soul of interpretation,so an interpretation without clear logic cannot convey the correct meaning to the audience.However due to the influence of the two languages' histories and the different habits in logical expression,the logical translation from one language to another is difficult.Meanwhile the author's ability of understanding is insufficient,the author is overly dependent on source language and uses incorrectly logical conjunctions,all that causes frequent logic errors.Therefore,this thesis takes the speech of the Minister of Higher Education and Research of France as an example to analyse the three major reasons of logical confusion: listening and understanding barriers,over-dependence of source language structure and abuse of logical conjunctions.Also three corresponding solutions are proposed: allocate rationally the energy to evaluate the initiative in the process of listening;break away from the source language structure;improve self-monitoring ability.
