Based on a case study of the English-Chinese translation of Literature As Exploration,this thesis tries to discuss and summarize the corresponding English translation strategies of academic monographs for the difficulty in translating this book through comparative analysis of the initial translation and the final draft.The author first analyzes the textual features of such academic monographs from the three levels of vocabulary,syntax and textual logic.Afterwards,the text type translation theory is used to analyze the characteristics of the text type and summarize the appropriate translation principles in.Finally,the author tries to propose three strategies to deal with a series of translation difficulties brought by the text features.From lexical level,network resources should be used to help search for parallel texts and verify terms.As to the long and compound sentences in the text,we must adopt a strategy of the combination of preserving or reorganizing the original sentence structure when translating.When the logic in the text is not explicit,explicitation should be made to make readers better grasp the context of the original text.The author hopes to contribute to the translation of academic monographs through the analysis and summary of this translation practice.
