Effective teaching is a hot,difficult and core issue in the current classroom teaching reform and even the entire educational reform.Therefore,the author chooses the Effective Teaching in Schools to translate in this practice,which is the reference book of Master of Education at York University.The aim is to understand the foreign education system,education status and find the existing problems,and to provide reference for China's education reform.Based on Skopos Theory,which is the core theory of functional translation theory,this report employs various translation techniques to translate the first three chapters.Combined with the three principles of Skopos Theory,the relevant typical examples encountered in the translation process are analyzed.In order to achieve effective communication and enhance the acceptability of language,under the guidance of Skopos Theory,this report makes a comparative analysis of the features of Chinese and English.Combined with translation cases,language differences such as active and passive,short and complicated,dynamic and static are discussed in depth.In order to enhance the coherence of the target text,under the guidance of the Coherence Rule,various translation techniques,such as modification,division,amplification and omission,have been used to analyze the relevant long sentences.It can improve the fluency of the translation and highlight the logical relationship of the sentences.In order to be faithful to the source text and correctly express the original intention,under the guidance of the Fidelity Rule,the relevant words,phrases and sentences are translated reasonably,so that the translation can be faithful to the original author and also can effectively conveys the original information.Through translating Efficient Teaching in Schools,this paper finds that the translation based on Skopos Theory is more accurate and semantically coherent,which indicates that Skopos Theory has a good guiding significance for the translation of education texts.This translation practice report can provide reference for the translation of relevant texts.
