A Report On The Translation Of Cosmetic Instructions

With the deepening of economic globalization,an increasing number of foreign cosmetics swarm into Chinese market.The cosmetic instructions assume the responsibility of introducing product information,which is essential for the promotion of products.An introduction contains ingredients,functions,usage and considerations of product.Customers are informed of product information through this introduction.Therefore,high-quality translation is not only the demand of product to enter Chinese market,but also gains popularity among customers.The author chooses Vermeer's Skopos theory as the theoretical basis of the research project,which includes three principles: the first principle is the principle of purpose,with the purpose of translation;secondly coherence rule and fidelity rule,with translation logic coherent and faithful to the original texts.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,the purpose of translation,the coherence of translation and the accurate expression of original ideas can be ensured,thus greatly improving the quality of translation.The report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is description of translation task,which mainly introduces the translation background of the project,it's purpose and significance.The second chapter is the research status,which mainly includes the analysis of the status quo of Skopos theory and cosmetics translation research.The third chapter is the main body of the translation practice report.Through the analysis of translation cases to summarize the translation strategies.The fourth chapter is a summary of this translation report,summarizing achievement and making a summary of experience.During the translation process,the translator found many shortcomings,but also gained precious experience.The translator not only mastered the translation skills of this kind of text,but also improved efficiency of translation,improved the utilizationability of network resources and translation tools.Hopefully,may this paper can make some contributions to future translation studies.
