Archaeological Excavation And Preliminary Study On The Fengdu Kong Dongbao Tomb Group In The Year 2018

In order to cooperate with the cultural relics protection work in the Chongqing subsidence area of the three Gorges Reservoir,the southwest archaeology and cultural relics research center of Chongqing Normal University carried out an archaeological exploration and excavation of the Kongdongbao tomb group in 2018.This paper is a preliminary study of the nine tombs excavated.According to the different materials of tombs,the tombs of Kongdongbao tomb group can be divided into two kinds: the Earthen tomb and The brick chamber tomb.The brick-chambered tombs can be divided into type A and type B according to the location of its corridor.Type A provides a corridor at one end of the short wall of the tomb;Type B provides a corridor for one end of the long wall of the tomb.The unearthed funerary objects in the tomb group include Pottery,Bronze ware and Iron ware.The nine tombs excavated in the Kongdongbao tomb group can be divided into three periods: the first period is the late Western Han Dynasty,the second period is the middle Eastern Han Dynasty,and the third period is the late Eastern Han Dynasty.The form of the Kongdongbao tombs and the funerary objects can be divided into three types: the central plain culture factors,the local culture factors and the extraterritorial cultural factors.Among them,extraterritorial cultural factors were only found in the tombs of the middle Eastern Han dynasty.There are 13 different kinds of patterns bricks in this tomb group,but the main body patterns of each tomb vary from 1 to 3 kinds.The distribution of Kongdongbao tomb group is greatly affected by the topography,and the site selection and construction of tombs follow certain rules.Terraces on the Banks of the Yangtze river are favored,and even tombs farther away from the river are built on hilltops or on slopes with wide views.
