Research On The Image Of Rural Strongman In New Century Novels

The rural narrative in Chinese new literature has a long history,and the colorful rural characters in rural narratives are important carriers for writers to reflect the changes of rural society.Under the background of the era of rural reform,the literary schools of reform literature and the bottom literature all pay attention to the influence and change brought by the social transformation to the rural people.And those “strongman” who live in rural society with extraordinary political leadership,keen economic vision(and business management ability)and a cultural influence “strongman” can all have a strong main body momentum in the transition era.These figures have some similar qualities,and their personality also shows certain convergence.The study of this group is a necessary step to understand the peasants in modern society,reveal the political ecology of the rural grassroots,and examine the process of rural modernization.Based on this,this paper mainly selects the image of rural strongman in the novels of the new century as the starting point,and observes its image characteristics,classification,“new quality” under the conditions of the new era,as well as its value and significance.The introduction part firstly analyzes the concept of “strongman” image,and also points out the reason for choosing this topic in this paper.At the same time,it summarizes the current research status.The main content is divided into three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the main types of the image of “strongman” in the novels of the new century: the rural tyrants with private desires,the public servants for the benefit of the people,and the village cadres on both sides.As broad as possible,the image of the “strongman” in the new century is summarized and classified.The second chapter mainly explores the new quality of the image of “strongman” in the country novel in the new century.Specifically,it is the inheritance and breakthrough of the traditional enlightenment narrative,the decline of the internal quality of its “strongman” under the new era conditions and the rise of the new “strongman” image represented by the rural strong woman.The third chapter mainly analyzes and summarizes the value and significance of the image writing of the “strongman” in the new century.This value and significance are mainly manifested in: firstly,the powerful revelation of the problems arising from the rural reform in the process of social transformation;Secondly,in addition to the national critique of enlightenment narrative,it also provides us with a new perspective to examine human nature-eliminating prior moral standards,giving farmers more understanding with humanistic care and humanitarian attitudes;and thirdly,by presenting the contradictions and conflicts between the new generation of young peasants and the traditional civilization of the countryside,it highlights the spiritual changes and dilemmas of the rural areas during the transition period,and then provides a review and reflection on rural modernization.
