Jade ware is an important part of ancient funeral objects in China,and the study of jade ware has become an important subject in archaeology.Xuzhou was the seat of Chu,an important feudal state in the Western Han Dynasty.Since Liu Bang,Gaozu,conferred his brother Liu Jiao as King of Chu,many princes and kings lived and were buried here,leaving rich material remains.With the continuous development of archaeology,a large number of Han tombs have been found and unearthed many jades.The unearthed jades not only have rich types and high quality,but also have their own characteristics in the style and artistic achievements.They occupy an important position in the long history of the development of the Han Dynasty jades.The jade unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou is not a single individual.It not only has its own development rules and characteristics,but also exists and develops under the centralized unification.It is necessary to study the jade unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou nowadays.This paper is divided into five parts to study the jade unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou area.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the research object,research status,research methods and research significance,summarizes the shortcomings of previous studies,as well as the content of this paper.This paper studies the natural environment and historical evolution of Xuzhou area,and the relationship between the location of tombs and jade articles in Xuzhou area.The second part combs the jade unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou,and records the jade unearthed from the tombs in Xuzhou area according to the data.The tombs are divided into four levels: the tombs of princes,nobles,officials and civilian tombs.The carding of the jades unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou is the foundation of this article,which is the basis of this study.The third part is the typological study,which makes a typological analysis of thetypical jades unearthed in the tombs(jade bi,jade Huang,jade cicada,jade shape and jade ring).Combined with the age of the tombs and the development and evolution of the jades,the jades unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou area are divided into three periods: the early period(before Martial Emperor),the middle period(during Martial Emperor)and the late period(after Emperor Han Zhao and Emperor Han Xuan),and summarizes the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou.The characteristics of unearthed jades in different periods.The fourth part is about the related issues,closely following the typological analysis and stage of the preceding article,analyses and summarizes the characteristics of the jade unearthed from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou and the jade unearthed from the tombs of the princes and kings in the Western Han Dynasty in Xuzhou,and finally explores the reasons for the prosperity and development of the jade in the Western Han Dynasty.The fifth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole paper and elaborates the research viewpoints.
