Re-discussion On The Geographical Location Of Wusun Chigu City Based On Archaeological Data

Wusun was an important ancient nomadic people in the northwestern region during the historical period of China.According to the literature,during the Han Dynasty,Wusun moved to the Western Region to establish a country.Its jurisdiction was the vast area centered on the Ili River and Issyk-Kul Lake.It was the largest country among the thirty-six countries of the Western Region in the Han Dynasty and also an important part of the Silk Road.At the same time,Wusun was closely connected with the the Han Dynasty.Not only did they exchange trade,but the two princesses of the Han Dynasty successively married with Wusun Kunmo.They formed a strong military alliance,which was important for the dismantling of the Hun and the establishment of the western regions frontier command.Therefore,Wusun archaeological research has important significance.It is not only an indispensable part of the Silk Road research,but also an important academic value in the study of Central Asia and Central Asia and Central Plains.The two Princesses of the Han Dynasty both lived in Chigu City.Chigu City was the capital of Wusun and their political,economic and cultural center.The study of Chigu City is an important part of the study of Wusun's history.The geographical location of the Chigu City is still widely debated.The research on this issue is mostly based on literature and less archaeological data.Therefore,this paper will focus on the geographical location of Chigu City,collect relevant archaeological data of Wusun at home and abroad,classify and sort out,try to judge the geographical location of Chigu City or narrow the selection of Chigu City.And a certain degree of analysis of the nature of Chigu City.Based on literature records and archaeological data,this paper roughly divides the possible distribution of Chigu City into the Tekes River Basin,the upper reaches of the Naryn River,the Issyk-Kul Lake,and the left bank of the middle reaches of the Ili River.Through the collation of archaeological data in four regions,and the use of cultural factors analysis,historical literature,historical geography,environmental climate and other methods to assist analysis,tryto do some judgment on the geographical location of Chigu City.Finally,through the judgment of the geographical location of Chigu City and the collated of archaeological data,this paper makes a brief analysis of the nature of Chigu City and the economic form.
