A Translation Report Of The Queen Mother

The translation materials are from The Queen Mother written by the biographer for the British Royalty William Shawcross.This thesis is mainly based on the translation practice of The Queen Mother(Chapter 4)in an attempt to find out the methods and techniques of biography translation.Biographies record the facts,and make advantage of literary expression.The translation report aims at recreating the original text in terms of its content and style and exploring the translation methods of word and sentences through some typical translation examples.The translation methods of words are adjustment of word order,addition,omission and transliteration;the translation methods of sentences are linear translation,division conversion and changes of voices.In the conclusion part,the author shares the main experiences from the translation practice with readers and hopes to guide the translation of biography texts and the relevant texts.
