| Keynote speech is a speech setting forth the keynote,containing a central or the most important idea of conference.As a critical part in interpreting study,the demand of Chinese-English conference keynote speech interpretation is relatively rigid and rigorous.What principles should be followed and what methods should be adopted in conference keynote speech interpretation is well worth exploring.As a new orientation of Translation Studies from ecological perspective,Eco-Translatology has gone through rapid development in recent years.The study of interpretation from the viewpoint of Eco-translatology is the indispensable part and inevitable trend of eco-translatological studies.Eco-translatology definitely offers a fresh perspective to the interpreting study of conference keynote speech.The official interpretation of the keynote speech by President Xi Jinping at the World Economic Forum 2017 was accurate,expressive and flexible.It can be regarded as an excellent example of conference keynote speech interpretation.So its art of the interpretation is worthy of study.Employing it as the research case,this thesis intends to explore the principles and methods of C-E conference keynote speech interpretation through “adaptation and selection” and “three-dimensional transformations” from the viewpoint of Eco-translatology.It illustrates the interpreter how to adapt to the specific interpreting eco-environment and select proper interpreting methods by “selective adaptation” and“adaptive selection” and how to conduct “three-dimensional transformations”,that is,in linguistic,cultural,and communicative dimensions,so as to render the target language meet the basic principles—accuracy,acceptability and flexibility.It aims to improve the effect and quality of of C-E conference keynote speech interpretation,enrich the interpreting theoretical basis,broaden interpreting academic horizon,deepen interpreting theoretical study and promote interpreting practical research. |
