| This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the sci-tech text: Open Innovation 2.0 The New Mode of Digital Innovation for Prosperity and Sustainability(Chapter 1-4),which contains the introduction of OI2,digital disruption,sustainable innovation and the evolution of the innovation.This highly professional text is formally styled and clearly structured with many structurally complex sentences.Therefore,the translator sums up the specific problems and difficult points that appeared during the process of translation and illustrates the methods as well as the strategies that the translator used to address these problems.The main difficult point that confused the translator during the translation process is how to reproduce the logicality of the original text.The translator tried to analyse this problem in two levels: sentence and discourse.For the first level,it is divided into the translation of notional words(nouns and verbs)and logical connectors,and the logical reproduction in passive sentences and attributive clauses.The translator upholds translation strategies such as communicative translation,adopts translation methods such as free translation,and translation techniques such as amplification,combination,division and adaption are also used flexibly.For the discourse,the translator focuses on the logical reproduction among sentences and paragraphs,and mainly adopts the translation techniques such as combination and recasting after fully understanding the deep logic connotation of the original text.Through this translation practice activity,the author has a deeper understanding of the features of sci-tech texts and sums up the translation skills and translation methods suitable for logical reproduction of sci-tech texts according to the translation theories and techniques acquired.It is hoped that this report may be a source of reference for other translators in sci-tech translation. |
