Prominence Of Static Nature In The English Translation Of International Relations Texts

This report is based on History of Relations between China and Latin American and Caribbean Countries(Chapter One,Part Three and Four)written by He Shuangrong,which describes the development of relations between China and Latin America.Aiming at the problems in the process of translation,the author finally discusses the prominence of static nature for the pivotal sentence and serial verb sentence in the international relations texts.As an international relations text,this text features descriptive and summative language,containing a large amount of information and serial verb patterns.During the translation process,the translator found many problems,among which the translation of pivotal sentence and serial verb sentence are the main obstacles.Since English is a static language,dynamic sentences in Chinese need to be transformed in order to maintain the static nature of English prominent.In the chapter of case analysis,the translator elaborates,analyzes and classifies the translation problems,and solves them by some translation methods and techniques according to the dynamic static tendency between two languages.To address these problems,the translator discusses them with three parts embracing pivotal sentence,serial verb sentence,as well as sentence with pivotal and serial verb structures.Through this report on translation,the author hopes to provide a reference for the translation of pivotal sentence and serial verb sentence in international relations texts,providing a new perspective for the translation study of international relations materials,as well as some help and reference for the English translation of international relations materials.
