The Buddhist statues have always been the focus of the Scholars and artists since was found in 1996.Among this archaeological discovery,the Bodhisattva of the Beiqi Dynasty is the focus of Buddhist statues in the Qizhou Longxing Temple.As the disciple of Buddha,the Bodhisattva is the indispensable subject of Buddhist statues.The Bodhisattva is less stylized than the Buddha,which is more exquisite for its ornaments and “Yingluo”(the pearl and jade necklace arounding the Bodhisattva)around their body.The Bodhisattvas Statues of the Beiqi Dynasty in Qizhou Longxing Temple is also famous for their distinctive style and luxuriant,gorgeous decoration.During the Beiqi Dynasty,the faith of the Buddhism is prevalence from the royal family to the common people.For this specific historical environment,the artwork of Buddhism can be developed with a unprecedented speed and scale.This thesis bases on vast amount of primary source of field survey,mainly analyses the development sequence of the Bodhisattva in the Qizhou Longxing Temple of the Beiqi Dynasty by the method of typology in archaeology and formoal analysis in art history,focusing on the form of “Yingluo”.The modeling of caving Bodhisattvas closely contacts with the western culture,which reflects the process of cultural communication between the China and external area.
