A Translation Report On The WTO And The Environment

As we know,in today's world,the rapid growth of economy brings environmental crisis.In recent years,the contractions between international trade and environmental protection are sharpening.Luckily,international organizations such as the WTO,is dedicated to the preservation and furtherance of free trade principles,and at the same time pays respect to the environment protection and principles of sustainable development.The year of 2018 is the 17~thh year of China's entry into the WTO.These 17 years witnesses fast growth of China's international trade and economy.Nevertheless,China is suffering from various environmental problems.Therefore,the author chose The WTO and the Environment as the source text of translation project,aiming at introducing this book to domestic readers to raise their awareness of environmental protection;at the same time,they would have a rough idea of the interaction of international trade with the environment.On the basis of legal text translation practice,following the static equivalence theory of Li Kexing and combing translation practice of 200,000 characters,the translation report analyses translation strategies of legal text by case studies.Firstly,the report analyses the translation of legal words:legal terminology and borrowed words.Secondly,the report analyses the sentence translation of legal text.In the end,the author summarizes her findings as well as problems exist in the translation project.
