A Report On The Translation Of Safety Production Procedures Of TONKOLILI IRON ORE PROJECT

With the,"One Belt,One Road" initiative vigorously spreading,the partnership between China and neighboring countries is getting closer and closer which includes the projects such as mineral exploration and infrastructure construction with some African coun tries.During the cooperation process,safety production regulations beco me very imp.ortant as the necessary documents which is essential for promoting more effeqtive bilateral cooperation.TONKOLILI IRON ORE PROJECT of Shandong Iron&Steel Group Co.,Ltd responded positively to the "The Belt and Road" initiative to establish cooperation with African countries in the iron ore mining project in Sierra Leone.Entrusted by Shandong Iron&Steel Group Co.,Ltd,the author is responsible for translating the Isolation and Tagging procedure stipulations of One Belt and One Road TONKOLILI IRON ORE PROJECT.Based on Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory,the author tried to analyze and solve the translation problems in order to combine the theory with practice more closely and improve the translation level,which provided some valuable experiences for the author's ^translation learning in the future.The report is divided into four parts.The first part makes a brief description of the translation task including backgrounid,characteristics and the research significance of this translation practice.The second part is the translation process description which contains pre-translation preparation,translation prcocess overview and translation text proofreading.The third part focuses on the analysis of translation examples,which introduces the origin and development of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory.From two perspectives of vocabulary and sentence structures,the writer analyzed Nida's theory of functional equivalence with specific translation examples,showed translation tech niques,and explored the applicab ility of the theory to the text.The final part is the summary of the translation pr actice,in which the author makes a conclusion of the problems and gains during the translation.
