With the development of globalization,the international community attaches great importance on promoting cultural and educational cooperation.Universities and colleges from different countries are building great exchange programs with each other,where the translation of publicity materials set basis of understanding and communicating.Therefore,the quality of publicity materials is especially important for implementing cooperative activities successfully.This translation practice is based on the CTI certification materials of Tianjin International Engineering Institute in Tianjin University,including transferring and admission regulations,recommended students exemption brochures,entrance exam requirements,inspection group protocols,etc.The translation report involves four chapters.The first part briefly introduces the background,content and significance of the translation project.The second part describes the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translating and proofreading.The third part is the main chapter,where the translation strategy of domestication and foreignization is illustrated.Under this guidance,relevant translation techniques are summarized by analyzing the translating examples in terms of vocabulary,sentence and passage.The fourth part is summary of the translation practice.This chapter brings out the review and reflection after translating practice,as well as the shortcomings that are identified during the translating process.This translation report pays emphasis on the guidance of domestication and foreignization translation strategy.For the translation of publicity materials under this method is still lack of research,thus hopefully this translation report can provide some referential value.
