Since the beginning of the 21 st century,China has made remarkable achievements in the economic development. However, since the new administration of the US took office in 2017,it has been making false accusations against many nations and regions, particularly China, with the purpose to force their own interest demand in its favor on China through extreme pressures. In order to clarify the facts about China-US economic and trade relations, and pursue reasonable solutions, the central government of China has issued this white paper. This paper makes an analysis of The Facts and China's Position on China-US Trade Friction from the perspectives of Peter Newmark, the famous British translator,in three aspects: semantic translation, communicative translation and relevance translation. It also makes a comparative study of semantic translation and communicative translation from the lexical and syntactic features.Besides,it analyzes in detail Newmark's relevance translation from the angle of vocabulary level, grammar level and text appropriateness.Hopefully, this research can provide reference better insights for future translation of the white papers, through which the world can understand china better.
