It is helpful for students to apply their knowledge to understand the geographical phenomena,cultivate geographic interests and develop their skills through carrying out outdoor geography learning activities.But the situation is not that optimistic,the current mainstream form of outdoor teaching is still teacher-centered,teachers cannot provide students with appropriate learning guidance.With the development of information society,mobile learning gets highly concerns since learners can learn anytime,anywhere.However,the research on fusing mobile learning into outdoor geography teaching is inadequate,and there is still a long way to develop outdoor learning system server.Therefore,it is significant to build outdoor geography mobile learning system theory and practice.This thesis firstly makes a review about the basic theory of outdoor mobile learning in geography and the related technologies in server development.Based on the shortcomings in outdoor geography teaching,we complete the overall design of the server,including the function and structure design of the server and database design.Secondly,we implement the function of communication between the intelligent terminals and the server,thus making the server classify and store the information sent by intelligent devices.This information includes the user's personal information,position,the task point,job,test questions database and teaching materials.Thirdly,we complete the development of each functional modules in server-side,including user management,test question database management,learning activity management,and security management.Our system server runs in the Windows platform,and uses Web technology.It is developed in Java,using MySQL to build the database.Moreover it uses the famous three-tier architecture:browser,server,and database.We test the performance of our server by carrying out the learning activities of the Osmanthus.The results show that the proposed server design proposal is feasible.The message sent by intelligent terminals can be efficiently stored in our server.And our server can make a quick feedback to a specific request.we also implement the digitalized management for learning activities,test question database and learning materials,thus making it easy for teachers to save?classify?retrieval and plan outdoor teaching activities.Therefore,our server greatly satisfies the application requirements of outdoor geography teaching.
