| Homeland is a place where people settle down and get on with their pursuit.Homeland is a place where people live freely.The politics,economy and culture of the Tang Dynasty were unprecedentedly prosperous.The poets of that era were looking for their homes in the idyllic country life.This article aims to explore whether it is reasonable for the poets to take the idyllic country as their home and how it is possible,and expound the beauty of homeland in pastoral poetry.The first chapter mainly analyzes the reason why the pastoral poets in the Tang Dynasty take the idyllic country as their homeland.There are three major causes why the poet find their homes in the pastoral life.First,from the historical and cultural background,it is closely related to the background of Chinese farming civilization and the influence of the thoughts of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in the Tang Dynasty.Second,it is influenced by the development of pastoral poetry itself.In particular,Tao Yuanming’s return to the pastoral life does a good example for future generations.Third,it is influenced by the social reality foundation of the Tang dynasty.The economy of the Tang Dynasty was prosperous.The seclusion atmosphere in the Tang Dynasty was very strong.Leisure life had become a fashion.Private granges and villas were popular.The second chapter analyzes the theme of "homeland" in pastoral poetry.The theme of homeland in pastoral poetry is manifested in the following three aspects.The first one is the harmony between man and nature.The idyllic countryside is the nature of human cultivation and home where the poets live.In the idyllic countryside,man is not the center.Man is neither oppressed by nature nor the master of nature.Man and nature are partners and neighbors.People coexist with nature.Second,the alienation between the city and the countryside leads to the poet’s wandering state.Therefore,the poets eager to settle in life and to return home.The idyllic country is the origin of the poets’ life.When the poets return to the origin,the poets’ life can be settled.Thirdly,because of the dilemma of politics and retreat,the Tang Dynasty scholars have a sense of homelessness.They are in politics,while seclusion.They try to reconcile or even eliminate the contradiction in this way.And they are increasingly turning to the home of the soul.In fact,it is the spiritual home of the poet.The third chapter mainly expounds the beauty of the homeland of the countryside.As the home of the poets,the beauty of the countryside lies in its rich natural landscape,simple life style,harmonious interpersonal relationship,and full of spiritual life.For pastoral poets,the idyllic countryside is not only a living environment,but also a way of life.In pastoral poetry,living is not only living in the limited space of human construction,but in the vast universe and nature.The poets enjoy the pleasures of life in ordinary daily life.The poets treat their life with aesthetic attitude,and their life is poetic and artistic.In the idyllic country,the poets find their home.When people live in their homes,people exist according to their own nature,and all things exist as they are.People and all things coexist.Such a world will become a beautiful world. |
