Many of the South Korean learners who learn Chinese have reached intermediate and advanced levels.However,their mastery of the polysyllabic words in modern Chinese vocabulary is not good,which directly affects their Chinese learning and daily communication.The research in this paper is the solution to this problem.First of all,this thesis expatiates on the research purpose,the research status and research methods of polysyllabic words.The research results of polysyllabic words have examined the research of ontology and teaching in China and South Korean.There are very few studies to learn how to master polysyllabic words for Korean learners.Secondly,questionnaire design,questionnaire survey and survey analysis are carried out according to the research needs.The survey was based on a selection of 40 polysylla bic words from the HSK and polysyllabic dictionaries from three aspects:the knowledge of polysyllabic words,the mastery of polysyllabic pronunciation,the mastery of polysyllabic pronunciation and associative meaning.The respondents were South Korean learners of intermediate and advanced level in Chinese environment and non-Chinese environments.The survey results are shown as below:Firstly,learners can master the correct pronunciation of polysyllabic words in Chinese environment accounting for 60%;Learners in non-Chinese environments have much lower accuracy in mastering the pronunciation of polysyllabic words.Secondly,the master accuracy of polysyllabic words pronunciation is higher than the master accuracy of polysyllabic words sound synonymic in Chinese environment.The master accuracy of polysyllabic words sound synonymic in non-Chinese environment is not high.Thirdly,the following conclusions can be drawn from the investigation of the two groups’ multi-tone acquisition.The average accuracy rate of learners in Chinese environment is 67.6%,and the average error rate is 32.4%.The average accuracy rate of learners in non-Chinese environment is 52.5%,and the average error rate is 47.8%.The average master accuracy rate of polysyllabic words in Chinese environment is higher than in non-Chinese environment of Korean learners.The most prominent problems for learners in non-Chinese environment are:Low master accuracy in the use of low frequency polyphonic words,bad master of the polyphonic words with unconspicuous difference,bad master of polyphonic words with similar pronunciation in Korean.Finally,according to the research and analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions for learning polysyllabic words.First,teachers should remind students the importance of learning polysyllabic words.Second,carry out grading teach according to the using frequency and level of the polysyllabic words.Third,explain the learning method and sum marize the rule.Fourth,carry out more tone training of different tones’ polysyllabic words.Fifth,study in a language environment.Sixth,ask students to prepare their own polysyllabic dictionary.It is hopes that this study can have certain reference value for Chinese international teaching and can help Korean learners to learn polysyllabic words better.
