Nowadays, although the importance of biotechnology is becoming more prominent, the ethical issues caused by it are also increasingly concerned. This report is selected from Re-Creating Nature: Science,Technology, and Human Values in the Twenty-First Century written by James T.Bradley.Emerging biotechnology mentioned in the chapter benefits mankind and arouses many ethical problems. It is a text about science and technology, which is popular, professional and highly readable. There are biotech terminologies and legal ones,as well as long and complex sentences in the text. With communicative translation theory of Newmark, the translator combines the characteristics of technical English translation and analyzes the translation text from two levels--words and sentences, using translation methods, such as conversion,co-translation,division as well as reconstruction, thus the main translation methods of this text will be generalized. It is hoped that the report will provide readers a good reading experience, allow more translators to devote themselves to relative translation, offer reference for scientific and technological translation work,as well as provide reference materials for related researchers engaged in science and technology. |
