Shuang is a kind of pottery and stone products that bathed and rubbed dirt in ancient society.In the prehistoric period,there were Shuang in Hubei and Jiangsu,in Henan from Shang Dynasty to Spring and Autumn Period,and they were widely used in the region.In the Warring States Period,besides Henan,there were also Shuang in Hebei.In the Han Dynasty,Shuang were mainly used in Jiangsu and Shaanxi.Not only is there a large number of excavations,but also there are great differences in the patterns and decorations of the inscriptions unearthed in different regions and times.However,due to the limitation of time and unearthed data,the current academic research on has not yet appeared.As a kind of bathing articles embodied in ancient bathing ways,it is an important medium for us to study ancient bathing culture.Therefore,this paper focuses on as Shuang—a bathing tool.First of all,it discusses the evolution between Stone Shuang and Pottery Shuang that is,the relationship between development and substitution.Secondly,by consulting literature and visiting museums on the spot,it systematically collates the unearthed from prehistoric to Han Dynasty,and makes a thorough study of it through classification,stages and zoning,and points out different regions in different times.The characteristics of the unearthed pottery,the development trend of the pottery.To explore the rules of Ancient Practical bathing articles,take the representative aristocratic bathing methods of the Zhou Dynasty as an example,to explore the ancient bathing methods and processes.Finally,according to the corresponding era background and social conditions,to speculate on the emergence and disappearance of Tao Qiao,and through examples to summarize the ancient bathing contains religious and sacrificial,medical,social etiquette and other cultural connotations.
