As a Japanese-born British novelist,Kazuo Ishiguro's novels are usually beyond borders and conflicts among various cultures,focusing on universal livelihood of individuals.Academic studies,however,are mainly confined to theme,identity and creation intention,while lack poetics insight into the whole novel.Therefore,this paper,divided into six parts,investigates Kazuo Ishiguro's immigrant status,novel text,internationalized creation,and dialogue thought,in order to showcase his dialogue poetics and reveal cultural meanings behind.In the part of introduction,it briefly brings in Kazuo Ishiguro's life and his writings,combing research of works of Kazuo Ishiguro at home and abroad,analyzing dialogue study of Kazuo Ishiguro,and specifying research method and objectives.Chapter one makes clear the origins of Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue thought.The migrant experience immerses him in oriental and occidental cultures,and the mentality of running away from migrant status in his family distances himself from every culture,which also brings about Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue horizon.During the same period,Kazuo Ishiguro absorbs literary essence in the east and west,especially for Chekhov,Dostoyevsky,Yasujiro Ozu,and Akira Kurosawa,which enables him to set foot on human livelihood,equally deal with different voices and produce specific dialogue thought in his internationalized creation to perfect dialogue poetics.Chapter two explores the connotation of Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue poetics at the level of thought.In his novels,Kazuo Ishiguro discusses theeast and west,tradition and modern,technology and human relations.On the basis of historic memories,he reconstructs identities of unimportant people under cultural conflicts of the east and west,inherits and reflects traditional civilizations in the modern society,and displays the perseverance of great humanity under the tension of technology and human relations.Chapter three focuses on the performance of Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue poetics from the perspective of art style.He uses detective novel,science fiction and knight legend in his works,which not only realizes intertextuality in novel style,but bridges the classic dialogues and the popular ones,further increasing the scope of novel art and extending literary memories embedded in different literature styles.Chapter four conducts in-depth research into the cultural meanings of Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue poetics.In his works,Kazuo Ishiguro establishes an ideal interpersonal relationship,i.e.,“I-Thou” through dialogues.He reveals the limited situation faced by individuals,and arises people's yearning for love through dialogues beyond time and space,in order to remove the estrangement among people.He catches voices of unimportant people in history to prevent their nature from being forgotten,and sees love that has been lost in in the daily life,in order that dialogues pave the way for the co-existence of collectivity and the individualism in the future.In the conclusion,this paper summarizes the connotation of Kazuo Ishiguro's dialogue poetics,and reiterates its realistic significance in nowadays society.
